In question 3, how do you know that the frame is forwarded out s0/0 and not s0/1?

By examing the line
S 172.16.0.0 [1/0] via 192.168.0.2
you can tell this is a static route, The letter “S” at the beginning stands for Static route, and since the Admin added this route manually by adding the network 172.16.0.0 with the next hop interface IP address, which is 192.168.0.2. The router needs to know How to get to this address and which interface is associated with network address of 192.168.0.0. so it dose a recursive lookup.
The router will find a mach in its table, you can tell from the line:
C 192.168.0.0 is directly connected, Serial0/0
At the end the router will use the interface Serial0/0 with IP address of 192.168.0.1 which is a member of the network 192.168.0.0 to send the packet to the other end of this network which is 192.168.0.2 to get to the network 172.16.0.0

i wonder if #16 could be wrong..
My answer would be
•The destination network no longer exists.
•The destination network is moved to a different interface on the same router.
This answer :
•A topology change occurs where the existing next-hop address or exit interface is not accessible.
..is wrong because. if the exit intf is no longer accessible, the router wouldn’t install said route in its routing table. same thing with a next-hop that was resolved (thru a recursive lookup) to an inaccessible interface.

Nope it’s not, You may wonder why not?!!
Well, its all start with “How do i configure a static route?!!”
A simple static route:
router# config t
router(config)# ip route A.B.C.D E.F.G.H I.J.K.L
Where: A.B.C.D is the destination network/host
E.F.G.H is the mask
I.J.K.L is the next hop
We don’t care if the destination network moved to another interface (the command doesn’t state any interfaces), the router knows were to send the traffic even if the interface changed. you may say c’mon we use the exit interface when we configure a static route as well, that’s true you may use that as well, however in a multi-point network link where you have a switch in between routers and the link is not a point to point you should use the next hop IP address, in general network administrators use next hop IP address. Basically the router will do some extra processing to know which interface leads to the next hop IP address.

Thanks for the reply.
This is actually one of the disadvantages of a static route, that if theres a network topology change, the admin have to reconfigure the static routes.
The only time that this answer :
The destination network is moved to a different interface on the same router.
..is correct is: If the static route is referring to a next-hop ip address, and the new/different interface’s next-hop is assigned the ip address of said static route.
Problem with this is, an admin shouldnt be restricted with what ip address to assign to a next-hop router because of a configured static route. (Even worse, what if you’re not allowed to reconfigure that next-hop router.) This would also require to change the ip address of all the devices that are on this same network. It would be easier to change the static route.

To solve a static route downtime I would recommend adding a redundant Floating Static Route with lower AD to the routing table, however, floating static route is not part of CCNA curriculum.
